Code of Ethics

I studied at the Australian School of Holistic Counselling and I am a member of the International Society of Holistic Counsellors & Coaches (ISHCC). I abide by their Code of Conduct.

As your Holistic Counsellor and Coach, I promise to:

  • Prioritise your welfare and wellbeing.
  • Treat you with respect, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Create a safe and supportive non-judgemental environment that fosters trust, open communication, and mutual collaboration.
  • Provide services within the scope of my training, qualifications, and expertise, and refer you to other appropriate professionals when necessary.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries. 
  • Conduct myself with integrity, honesty, and transparency in all my interactions.
  • Ensure you have a clear understanding of the nature and purpose of the services provided, including any potential risks, benefits, or limitations.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing the counselling and mental wellness industry.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all your information, only sharing with your consent or as required by law.
  • Inform you about the limits of confidentiality and any circumstances where confidentiality may need to be breached, such as situations involving harm to self or others.
  • Recognise and address any personal biases or prejudices that may impact my ability to provide unbiased and effective care.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional competence by staying informed about current research, best practices, and ethical guidelines in the field of mental wellness.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance my knowledge, skills, and competence as a mental wellness practitioner.
  • Engage in regular supervision, consultation, or peer support to ensure ethical practice and to address any personal or professional challenges that may arise.
  • Prioritise my own self-care and well-being to maintain my ability to provide effective care to clients.
  • Seek appropriate support or professional help when needed to address any personal issues or challenges that may impact my professional practice.

As your counsellor and coach I will encourage you to take responsibility for your own health and wellbeing. I will support you to the best of my abilities while we are in a contractible relationship.
